Six bull elk were harvested this year; three in archery and three in rifle seasons.
All archery hunters had shot opportunities in addition to missed shots and a wounded
elk. Five cow elk were taken with rifle along with one whitetail deer.
An abundance of forage in the area and warm temperatures throughout November made
rifle cow elk hunting difficult. Exceptional soil and sub-soil moisture going into
Winter will help provide excellent Spring and early Summer vegetation growth; and
that means big antlers!
